Bakole vs Parker and Beterbiev vs Bivol: who are favourites after Dubois pulls out?

It had already been billed as one of the most exciting shows in boxing history, with no fewer than four IBF world title contests scheduled to take place on Saturday night.

But the drama started even before the first bell, with Brit Daniel Dubois pulling out of his world title defence against Joseph Parker after falling ill just 48 hours before the start of the contest.

The Kiwi will now take on 6ft 5in Congolese heavyweight Martin Bakole instead.

The event is being headlined by the highly anticipated rematch between light-heavyweight stars Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol.

Bet365 has all the odds ahead of an epic showdown in Saudi Arabia.

The Russians last clashed back in October when Beterbiev narrowly beat Bivol on points to become the first undisputed light-heavyweight champion since Roy Jones in 2002.

On that occasion, two judges scored the contest 116-112 and 115-113 in favour of Beterbiev, while the third judge had it as a 114-114 draw.

The 40-year-old has a perfect 21-0 win record, with 20 knockouts during his professional career. Bivol’s professional record stands at 23 wins, 12 of which were knockouts, and only one loss.

The last time the pair met, Beterbiev landed 137 punches during the contest – 20 per cent of those thrown. Bivol, meanwhile, landed 142 punches on his opponent – 34 per cent of what he threw.

Parker, 33, goes into Saturday’s showdown with 38 fights to his name, only three of which were losses. The New Zealander’s knockout rate is 66%, and he’s won each of his past five bouts.

Meanwhile, Bakole boasts a record of 22 professional fights and only a single loss, which came way back in 2018 against Michael Hunter.

The 31-year-old has won 16 of his fights by knockout and recorded a career-best performance last August when he stopped highly rated American Jared Anderson in the fifth round.

Martin Bakole 13/10 vs Joseph Parker 8/13
