The One Show viewers were left giggling by riotous guests Will Mellor and Ralf Little as they derailed the live show with a laughing fit.

The podcast hosts, who starred in Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps together, stopped by The One Show to chat about their upcoming tour, but distracted hosts Roman Kemp and Lauren Laverne when they couldn’t stop laughing at a previous segment.

“You two have got to stop laughing,” Roman told them, as the camera turned to the pair in fits of giggles after a previous segment about pocket gardens.

“I have to know what is so funny,” fellow guest Kate Hudson asked, while Ralf replied: “Will thought a pocket garden was soil in your pocket.”

Roman continued: “I wasn’t going to mention that but I could see you crying out of the corner of my eye.” As the group wiped away tears of laughter, Will explained: “Do you know what it is? Shut it Ralf. I’m allowed to get things wrong. I take things literally – you said a pocket garden, I thought it was a garden in your pocket.”

A laughing Ralf added: “He’s killing me tonight. We sat on the sofa and he went, ‘How shall I sit?’ I said you can’t man-spread in front of Kate Hudson. It’s mortifying. And then he did the pocket garden. He’s killing me.”

Viewers saw the funny side, with one writing on social media: “Will Mellor and Ralf Little on the One Show corpsing in front of Kate Hudson was fun.” Another tweeted: “#TheOneShow love will mellor lol.” The pair shared the One Show sofa with Kate Hudson, who spoke about her first album and her upcoming comedy series Running Point.

Earlier this month, Will revealed that he “doesn’t talk” to Ralf outside of work as he’s hard to get hold of. “We don’t get sick of each other, as doing the podcast is the only time we see each other,” he said. “Ralf’s not great on the phone, so he doesn’t answer the phone even if I call him. And we make sure we spend time apart not talking, so that when we’re together for the podcast we have a lot to talk about.”
