Daily US Times, Florida: Democratic presidential candidate and frontrunner Joe Biden has crushed rival Bernie Sanders in primary elections in Florida and Illinois.
The former vice president defeated Sanders in both states by wide margins and further accelerated his momentum in the race.
Arizona also voted on Tuesday but results are still being counted.
Biden is the favorite to Democratic candidate who will face President Donald Trump in November.
What are the result?
According to the Associated Press news agency, Mr Biden led Mr Sanders by nearly 62% to about 23% in Florida, while in Illinois Biden led Sanders by nearly by 59% to 36%.
Florida was the biggest prize tonight which has 219 delegates. A nominee needs to secure 1,991 delegates to get the Democratic presidential nomination.
Donald Trump won that traditional battleground state by 1.2 percentage points in the 2016 presidential election.
Biden has now won 16 of the last 21 state contests and is hoping to build an unassailable lead in the race for the Democratic leadership.
He won South Carolina last month, his first-ever primary win over three campaigns for president – revived his faltering campaign.
What mattered voters most?
Electability matted most the voters on Tuesday. According to opinion polling, most voters in Florida bet for Biden.
About three in four voters said Mr Biden would have a better chance of beating Mr Trump in November, while just one in five said the same of Mr Sanders.
Older voters more like to support Biden.
Who is getting Secret Service protection?
US Secret Service said on Tuesday that it will begin providing full protection for Mr Biden from this week. His codename will be Celtic, the same as when he was vice-president.
Mr Biden requested the security detail in circumstances of repeatedly accosted by protesters on the campaign trail.
Bernie Sanders has not made any request for Secret Service protection.
