Daisy May Cooper and brother Charlie sign up for new BBC show after ditching Celeb Traitors

Daisy May Cooper and her brother Charlie have reportedly landed a new BBC supernatural show. The series will see the popular This Country stars scoping out the ‘most haunted’ places in the country.

It comes after the pair were said to have signed up for the first UK version of Celebrity Traitors – but reportedly quit shortly before filming started. The duo are regulars on the BBC, however it was reported they recently pulled out of appearing on Celebrity Traitors just weeks before production began.

Sources claimed that they were “so excited” about taking part in the show but due to the demands, they were unable to go ahead with filming.

Speaking about their new programme, a source told The Sun on their new venture: “Daisy and Charlie are the perfect duo because they are both believers and have been quite vocal about supernatural experiences.” The series – which is expected to air on BBC later this year isn’t so new to Charlie, who fronted his own show Myth Country, which explored the gloriously bonkers world of British folklore.

“Daisy May and Charlie were so excited about taking part but once the demands of the show became clear Daisy had to sadly accept it would be tough as a mum-of-three,” a source told The Sun about Daisy and Charlie pulling out of The Traitors.

The Traitors cast has to be completely off grid and can’t be on FaceTime every night, or nipping to see their children on a day off filming.” The source further claimed that everyone tried to make things work, but ultimately, Daisy had to ‘put her family first.

Earlier this week, the star was seen showing off her sparkling engagement ring for the first time after it was reported she was ‘secretly engaged’ to her partner Anthony Huggins last month.

The 38-year-old actress was seen in New York with her partner on Monday as they walked hand-in-hand to the cinema, as the diamond was clearly seen on her finger.

The couple met on dating app Hinge in December 2021 and welcomed their first child together, a son named Benji, in June last year.

“You came a bit earlier than we expected and gave me the worst post op constipation that I nearly had to phone the Samaritans but my god you are perfect,” Daisy announced on social media.

“I cannot thank @deliverysuitegrh enough. The way you looked after us through such a scary time was above and beyond.”

The Mirror have contacted BBC for comment.
