Dancing on Ice fans sent into a frenzy as Coronation Street star makes unexpected cameo

Dancing on Ice viewers welcomed six celebrities to the rink on Sunday night following the exit of Love Island star Chris Taylor.

Last weekend, the dreaded skate-off returned following three weeks of instant eliminations, which saw the likes of Sir Steve Redgrave, Ferne McCann and Chelsee Healey leave the competition.

On the other hand, storming ahead in the show is reality star Dan Edgar, who earned the top spot on the leaderboard last week with a total score of 38.

However, with a brand new week, the leaderboard is a clean slate as the remaining stars do their best to impress. During the show, Dancing on Ice viewers were sent into a frenzy when Coronation Street star Andy Whyment took to the ice.

One person said: “All the points just for getting Kirk to MC.” Another commented: “Not Kirk being the dj”

Someone else wrote: “WHATS KIRK DOING ON HERE IM CRYING” Another said: “My fave skate of the night! Well done Sam!!”

One viewer commented: “Love Kirky on #DancingOnIce!” Thrilled, someone else wrote: “DJ KIRKY #DancingOnIce”

Andy was on hand to help his Coronation Street co-star Sam Aston, who was the last person to take to the ice on Sunday.

Before his hip-hop routine to Salt-N-Pepa’s song Push It, he was told he needed a ‘hype man’.

In a pre-recorded tape, Sam was seen speaking to Andy on FaceTime as he told his skating partner he had his hype man ‘covered’. As the routine kicked off, Andy was seen wearing a baseball cap and huge earphones on the DJ Decks.

With a microphone in his hand, he yelled: “Dancing on Ice, make some noise!!!” Sam then performed his skating routine, although the judges noticed a few issues.

In the end, he was given a total of 34.5 out of 40 for his skate. Giving his feedback, Ashley Banjo said: “Highest score because I loved it. When I heard you were doing this, I thought, ‘Oh my gosh this could be really bad’.

But, honestly I’m so confused. The further away you get from you in real life, the more comfortable you get in a performance.”

Despite his best efforts, Sam found himself at the bottom of the leaderboard, with Dan and Vanessa at the top with 38

Elsewhere on the show, host Holly Willoughby was unable to keep a straight face as her co-star was dressed in an 80s get-up.

With a pale blue suit, dark aviator glasses and a blonde wig, Holly was lost for words as she said: “Right, we’re going to have to do this early because I can barely look at you! Can you just talk me through what’s going on here?”

Stephen replied: “I will talk you through it actually, yes. I phoned you on Wednesday, we said we were going to do 80s on Sunday. You look incredible.”

Dancing on Ice is available to watch on ITVX.
