Another death could be looming on EastEnders, after a dramatic live episode on Thursday night.

The cast and crew went live for the big 40th anniversary episode, seeing the fallout to a devastating explosion at The Queen Vic. Following the demise of villain Reiss Colwell who was killed by a falling bathtub, Martin Fowler was killed off in a devastating twist.

But another death was soon teased, with fans convinced it might still happen ahead of a confirmed exit. Sonia Fowler gave birth to her baby daughter in the collapsed pub during the live episode.

Things took a concerning turn though when the baby was born, and Bianca Jackson noticed her newborn niece had turned blue. As she and Lauren Branning begged nurse Sonia to try and help her daughter they realised she seemed in a bad way too.

Suddenly the women screamed at Sonia who was laying down and seemed barely conscious. Sonia then bolted upwards and grabbed her daughter, before trying to get her to breathe.

Suddenly there was relief as the little one let out a huge cry, and mum and baby seemed to be okay. As residents outside cheered as they learned of Sonia welcoming her child, Sonia and her daughter were taken to an ambulance.

But some fans could not shift the idea ahead of Sonia leaving, and recent death hints, that perhaps another tragedy loomed. Viewers feared that while Sonia seemed fine, the medical scare after the birth might be something to keep an eye on.

Worried for Sonia, fans admitted they feared that in the coming days she may be killed off too ahead of Natalie Cassidy bowing out of the role. One fan posted on X: “I worry that Sonia might also die next week.”

Another agreed: “Omg is Sonia or the baby gonna die???” as a third added: “Imagine if Sonia, the baby and Martin all die.” The theories kept on coming with one reading: “I actually thought Sonia was going to die.”

Sonia’s ex and close friend Martin tragically died after being injured in the pub collapse. After being crushed by a metal ceiling beam, Martin suddenly stopped moving, and lost consciousness as Stacey screamed out.

He was given morphine for the pain with his breathing erratic, as Stacey vowed to stand by him. It’s then that Martin told Stacey once more he loved her, also telling her he never wanted to be apart from her ever again – asking her to marry him again.

Paramedics warned Stacey that Martin was at risk of crush syndrome, that could cause kidney issues and a cardiac arrest so to prepare herself. Martin realised something was wrong and gave Stacey a speech in heartbreaking scenes.

Just as they managed to free him Martin went into cardiac arrest. Sadly at the end of the episode Martin was killed off in devastating scenes, with Stacey by his side.
