EastEnders viewers ‘rumble’ who dies in Queen Vic explosion after eerie credits clue

A new theory could reveal who dies on EastEnders this week, after rumours a character would be killed off for the 40th anniversary.

A change-up to the opening titles of the BBC soap may have teased which Walford resident will meet a grisly end. There’s all kinds of drama looming, including an explosion at The Queen Vic.

Amid a love triangle ongoing between Ruby Allen, Martin Fowler and Stacey Slater, some fans think two big clues have sealed one of the characters’ fates. Amid rumours at least one person would die, pictures from the set appeared to show flower tributes outside of the destroyed pub.

Now something fans noticed at the start of Monday’s episode and then a scene later on left viewers speculating they had solved what happens. Viewers think it is Ruby who is set to perish in the episodes, just months on from her return.

The fact that it’s the show’s Ruby anniversary, the 40th, has left fans wondering if Ruby will die. The credits’ famous Thames river turned red for the opening titles for the big week, a nod to the Ruby anniversary.

But some viewers wondered if there was more to it and whether it signified a death, and possibly the demise of Ruby. Then she was shown wearing a red coloured dress for Honey and Billy Mitchell’s wedding, sparking further theories.

Taking to social media ahead of the big stunt airing, fans shared their theories around a possible tragic end. One viewer theorised: “I didn’t realise it before but the reason they’ve made all the promo red is because 40 is the RUBY anniversary. All signs point to miss Allen’s demise. It’s sad.”

Another viewer said: “With Ruby Allen’s mother and sister dying in a fire all those years ago, it would be pretty dark for Ruby to perish in the Vic fire. But it is EastEnders.” A third agreed: “My theory is that Ruby is dying!! 40th anniversary = ruby anniversary. The Thames was red in the opening titles. Ruby was wearing a red dress in yesterdays episode.”

The comments kept on coming with one reading: “GUYS, I think it’s Ruby dying in the fire! Idk why but the Ruby river did it for me.” Another said: “Does anyone think Ruby might die in the fire. As it’s EastEnders ruby anniversary. They also turned the Thames ruby red in the intro,” as a further fan commented: “Ruby is defo dying in this fire. Ruby anniversary and the Henry the 8th reference?”
