There could be a new murder mystery on Emmerdale, with fans convinced Nate Robinson will soon be confirmed dead.

The character left the village back in September, but his confusing departure sparked suspicion he had secretly been killed off. His decision not to speak to anyone before he left and then his minimal contact with his family afterwards left some viewers sure he might be dead.

While he appears to be in Shetland, getting away from the village after false accusations and being betrayed by his dad Cain Dingle and his on/off partner Tracy Robinson, he has yet to, as far as we are aware, speak to any of them. It’s been months, but there’s been no indication that anyone has spoken to Nate other than via text messages.

Nate had been accused of having an affair with Cain’s wife Moira after a misunderstanding, and neither Tracy or Cain believed him. Nate appeared to set off for a new life in Shetland, last seen speaking to John Sugden before not being onscreen again.

This all left fans sure at the time something sinister may have happened to him, and now the latest episode has once again sparked fears Nate is actually dead. Amid the deadly limo crash, Amy Wyatt plunged through the ice and became trapped.

As she tried to get out of the lake she was horrified when she came across a decomposing corpse in the water’s depths. As she panicked and screamed she tried to get out only to become trapped before seemingly losing consciousness.

Amid the chaos, fans noticed something about the arm of the corpse that might reveal who it was. While the obvious answer would be Anthony Fox, who was murdered by Ruby Miligan recently, some fans are convinced the body is Nate.

On the arm of the body was a bracelet that matched the ones made by Tracy and Nate’s daughter Frankie. Frankie has made more than one and has been handing them out, but fans are convinced it’s the same one worn by Nate just before he left the village for good.

Convinced Nate is dead, fans are now speculating about what happened to him and who might have killed him. But despite the recent theory that John is a secret killer and might have murdered Nate, some fans are now convinced it was actually Nate’s uncle Caleb Miligan who will be revealed as his killer – if the body is Nate.

Taking to X, one fan said: “I think Caleb killed Nate, as another agreed: “Caleb.” Others also agreed with this theory, while one fan wondered if Cain accidentally killed his own son when he beat him up back in September.
