Some Emmerdale fans think a clue in a future scene has revealed who Cain Dingle will be seen mourning.

Back in December fans were treated to a number of flashfowards to the future, with no details on when each moment will occur. Some of them have since happened while others are yet to be revealed.

One moment in particular has had fans talking and fearing the worst for months. Then when a shocking secret murder was revealed in a recent episode it left fans convinced the truth was out.

But some fans think there are actually some clues in the original clip that might now give away whose funeral it is, and who Cain is mourning. Just weeks ago there was a devastating limo crash that claimed the lives of Amy Wyatt, Leyla Harding and Suzy Merton.

Before Amy died she fell through the ice and became trapped, and as she fought for her life she spotted a body. She believed the body to be Nate Robinson, Cain’s missing son who everyone thinks is working in Shetland.

The soap soon appeared to confirm this was Nate and that he’d secretly been killed. This discovery left many fans convinced this must be whose funeral it is in future scenes, explaining why Cain would be crying.

But now some fans are convinced it is not Nate’s grave or his funeral, which could mean it will be quite a while before his body is discovered. Fans had hoped Nate’s body would be found soon ahead of us learning who the killer is.

Something about the flashforward funeral though has left fans sure it’s someone else he is mourning. Following Amy’s sad demise, fans are wondering if it’s her gave after all and not Nate’s.

This is because it’s Amy’s funeral next week, and there aren’t an images of Cain at the funeral. Amy is the mother of Cain’s young son Kyle so surely he will be there to support her.

The other clue is the flowers shown on the freshly dug grave as Cain weeps. Fans are convinced, while out of shot, that they do not spell Nate and that instead, they look like the letters that spell Amy.

So is it Amy’s funeral Cain is attending, ruling out any other deaths? Does this mean we have to wait longer to see the villagers find out about poor Nate if it isn’t his funeral? Viewers will have to stay tuned!
