A plane passenger has sparked fury online after sharing unsolicited photographs of the woman on board next to him.

The seething male shared a series of ‘unflattering’ snaps as he complained about his journey to Cleveland, Ohio, US. Posting to X, formerly Twitter, the passenger wrote: “‘My flight from Knoxville to Houston was amazing. Now on to Cleveland”.

One image showed the woman sitting next to him asleep, with another showing her leaning up against the seat in front of her, exposing her armpits. The man, under the username @Shawn172519, claimed in a thread that she had ‘taken over’ his seat, leaving him with little space.

“I was smashed against the window,” he said in a since-deleted post. “I’m 6ft1 and around 200lbs. She commandeered 1/3 of my seat. She had lifted the armrest.”

He added: “When she leaned forward, I almost lost it. It was a completely full flight. I couldn’t move”. The traveller also claimed that his seatmate had taken her shoes off and was also snoring. But his savage complaint has divided those online, with dozens rushing to have their say on the matter.

Some sympathised with the male, believed to be named Shawn. One wrote: “[Imagine] the male equivalent and that is what I get stuck sitting beside almost every flight. I’m so sorry.” Another said: “‘Flying made me realize that hygiene is optional for too many people. I’m sorry.”

Another concerned X user suggested: “So why didn’t you put it back down and put your arm on the arm rest? Protect your seat Shawn.”

Several others took issue with the fact Shawn took photographs of the woman without her knowing. One person accused him of being ‘disgusting’. They slammed: “You know what’s gross about this? That you felt the need to take pictures of this woman and post them for entertainment.”

One more hit back: “The fact you see nothing wrong with posting pictures of strangers on the internet is something.” It comes after digital creator Cam Casey couldn’t help but chuckle at the “instant karma on the airplane” dished out to a woman after blasting her behaviour as “nasty”.

The flip-flop wearer had her legs stretched out, leaving her toes peeking out from under his seat. Cam took revenge on the act, which some deemed to be selfish.

He tipped over his water bottle, soaking her exposed toes. The video clip ends with the sound of her astonished gasp as she hastily retracts her feet.
