Former Gladiators star Diane Youdale, better known as Jet, has made a heart-wrenching six-word confession about her recent split.

The 54-year-old, who recently rebranded herself as Diane Jetstrong, admitted to making mistakes during her short-lived 12-month marriage to Zoe Gilbert.

The couple, who tied the knot just four months after a chance meeting in a car park, parted ways in July 2024. Since then, Diane has opened up more about her feelings towards the relationship and what transpired, even going as far as to say she was “hoodwinked”.

Speaking on the People Are Deep podcast, Diane confessed: “It’s called being hoodwinked because sometimes what you see on the packet isn’t what you get and I tragically did that.”

She then made a seven-word admission, stating: “I’d got it wrong, we make mistakes.”

Diane added: “I can’t change my past, to me anybody coming into my life, regardless of their history, their history’s made their present, and it’s our present we can move forwards to for our future.”

This isn’t the first time Diane has spoken out about the collapse of her marriage to Zoe. In an interview with MailOnline, she revealed that towards the end of their relationship she “snapped”, which subsequently caused Zoe to “fall over the back of a sofa”.

She continued: “I pressed on her chest three times firmly and said, ‘Stop this now.’ I can’t remember what happened then. The next thing I knew I was being led out by the police.”

Diane opened up about the dark times in her relationship, confessing that it got so bad she “felt suicidal”. The couple’s split was a stark contrast to their whirlwind romance, which they happily shared on Lorraine back in 2023 as they announced their nuptials.

Zoe reminisced about the moment she mustered the courage to approach Diane, saying: “In short I had seen her in the carpark and thought she was the most beautiful woman I’d seen, then we exchanged names.”

She boldly approached Diane, complimented her beauty, and took a chance by asking her out. Now, as Diane heals from the breakup, she finds solace in hosting a Gladiators-themed podcast, chatting with past stars and current crew of the BBC’s revived Gladiators series.
