Gogglebox viewers were all left saying the same thing as they tuned into the first episode of the brand new series.

After a well-earned break over the last few weeks, Britain’s favourite armchair critics were back on Friday (February 14) night to share their thoughts on the latest shows on telly.

During the episode, the Goggleboxers watched Celebrity Bear Hunt, The Apprentice, Go Back to Where You Came From, Michael McIntyre’s Big Show and Boarders.

Just minutes into the new episode, viewers watching at home rushed to their keyboards to share their excitement on social media. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan penned: “Thank god #gogglebox is back.” Another added: “I’m so glad #Gogglebox is back @Channel4.”

A third person said: “Yay! Gogglebox is back in the room! Happy days are here again.” Someone else posted: “Yay new series of #gogglebox.”

However, some fans were left distracted as they spotted Tom Malone sitting with his feet placed next to a plate full of sweet treats. One fan said: “#Gogglebox Stop putting your feet next to the cakes Malone ffs.”

Another agreed: “Really p****s me off seeing a man with his shoes on right next to a plate of cakes #Gogglebox the Malone family.” A third said: “#gogglebox bad enough with his feet next to the cakes but the dog slathering all over them . Yuk.”

It comes after Dave and Shirley Griffiths shared an exciting announcement with fans. The pair attended the TV Choice Awards at the London Hilton on Park Lane on Monday night, where Gogglebox was in the running for the best entertainment show.

The couple were overjoyed to share the news that the show had won the award, posting a photo with the trophy and captioning it: “We done it #tvchoiceawards. Thanks to everyone who voted cheers your the best.”

Fans and friends flooded the comments with congratulatory messages. one person wrote: “My favourite Gogglebox couple.” Beverley said: “Well deserved.”

Another said: “Love from CA,”, while a third fan left a comment saying: “Congratulations. You both look amazing.” Fellow Gogglebox family, the Siddiquis, also celebrated the win, re-sharing the post with their own caption “Yay.”
