Holly Willoughby is said to have no plans to work with ITV after Dancing on Ice was axed after 19 years. The 44-year-old had only just launched her TV comeback in 2024 when she teamed up with Stephen Mulhern to present the Sunday night show.
Following the news ITV has pulled the programme after ratings plummeted, it’s the first time in 20 years that former This Morning host Holly has not had any TV shows with the channel.
This is in stark contrast to co-host Stephen, who seems to be in favour with ITV and has a string of existing and new shows lined up. According to reports, the 47-year-old’s schedule is packed for 2025.
His existing shows Deal or No Deal and Celebrity Catchphrase are set to continue. He also has a new travel show coming out later this year called Accidental Tourist, alongside pals Ant and Dec.
But reports claim that’s not the case for Holly. A source told The Sun: “Despite the sad news that Dancing on Ice won’t be returning next year, this clearly isn’t going to slow Stephen down any time soon.
“His 2025 schedule is already packed, with Celebrity Catchphrase and Deal or No Deal continuing to be solid favourites. He is also launching a brand-new travel show, Accidental Tourist, later this year.
“And there’s positive signs for a second series of You Bet! following its successful return last year. That’s not the case for Holly, though, with nothing confirmed for her at ITV right now.”
The source added: “Holly is a brilliant presenter and will always remain busy even if it’s not at ITV. But the channel remains heavily invested in Stephen, who’s earned his crown as one of ITV’s biggest stars.”
It comes after Holly took to social media yesterday to express her sadness that Dancing On Ice will not return to celebrate its 20th anniversary next year, as exclusively revealed by the Mirror earlier this month. She wrote: “A huge thank you to @itv, The brilliant team, Crew, Celebrities and Everyone who has been part of our Dancing on Ice family over the last 19 years.
“Every year, just when January felt at its greyest, Dancing on Ice arrived like a burst of glittering, dazzling light, warm, joyful, and full of heart… It has been an absolute privilege to work alongside true national treasures Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, and to have a front-row seat to their breathtaking skating.
“Watching them glide across the ice was nothing less than pure magic… A special thanks must also go to Arnica, Deep Heat, Spanx and fake tan, unsung heroes of the rink! I will miss it hugely, but I count myself so lucky to have had it for as long as we did. Finally and most importantly, thank you to you for watching, you’re the BEST!” Though there are no more ITV jobs planned as yet, Holly still has her new Netflix show, Celebrity Bear Hunt, which has been scheduled for a second series.
