Homebase has relaunched its website ahead of 13 branches closing within days.
The DIY chain collapsed into administration in November 2024, with its brand and some stores later snapped up by The Range owner CDS Superstores. In a major update this week, CDS confirmed the Homebase website has now been relaunched.
Shoppers will be able to order items from popular brands such as Dulux, Crown, Galerie and Johnstone’s for home delivery, or for click and collect at more than 200 Wilko and The Range stores nationwide. In a post on Facebook earlier today, Homebase said: “Homebase.co.uk is NOW LIVE. Explore 1000’s of home improvement essentials at your fingertips—from decorating and garden supplies to our popular kitchens and bathrooms.”
Alex Simpkin, Group CEO at CDS, said: “We’re excited to announce the relaunch of www.homebase.co.uk, offering customers nationwide an upgraded shopping experience via a diverse range of products for all their home and garden projects. Our aim is to preserve the best of Homebase’s heritage while introducing the broader product range, value, and quality to our customers.
“The relaunch is just the beginning, we’re committed to continually refining the user’s experience through regular updates as part of an exciting programme of digital initiatives, designed to enhance customer engagement. We can’t wait to welcome new and existing shoppers to this platform.”
It comes after Homebase confirmed it is shutting another 13 stores this month. Some of the branches are hosting closing down sales, featuring between 10% and 50% off products. The exact closure dates for each store has yet to be confirmed, but includes locations such as Romford, Broadstairs, and Coventry. You can see a full list of Homebase store closures below.
Homebase had 133 UK stores and employed 3,600 staff when it collapsed into administration in November 2024. CDS Superstores acquired up to 70 Homebase stores, along with the Homebase brand name and intellectual property.
Earlier this month, B&Q agreed to buy five branches, and Sainsbury’s is expected to buy three more stores, according to reports. Sainsbury’s bought ten Homebase sites in August 2024, before the chain collapsed into administration.
