ITV This Morning viewers were left disgruntled just minutes into Monday’s (March 3) episode.
The show kicked off with hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard chatting to Bank of Dave star Dave Fishwick, who was reporting live from the Oscars red carpet in Los Angeles after the previous night’s ceremony.
“It’s the biggest event in the showbiz calendar, we’ve been gripped by all the footage so far. Last night, Hollywood’s best known stars graced the red carpet ahead of the 97th Academy Awards,” Ben started.
“After a wild night soaking up the glitz, glamour, and, of course, those exclusive A-list after parties, Bank of Dave is joining us live from Los Angeles,” Cat chimed in, before passing over to an enthusiastic Dave.
“It’s 2am in the morning, or should I say the middle of the night here, and what a week it’s been. I can’t tell you how wonderful it’s been. I’m losing my voice, as you can tell, I’ve got the last few drains of energy about to leave my body because of the week we’ve had,” Dave shared, reports Wales Online.
A video was then played showing Dave’s Hollywood adventure with his wife, Nicola. The couple began their trip with a shopping spree on the famous Rodeo Drive, followed by a relaxing facial.
Dave and Nicola then dressed to the nines for several exclusive parties, including Elton John’s annual Oscars afterparty – which raises funds for the AIDS Foundation.
This Morning viewers were quick to express their boredom over Dave’s Hollywood and Oscars segment, with one viewer tweeting: “The show has just started and it’s already boring,” while another chimed in: “I’m not even watching and I’ve had enough.”
“Dear lord they definitely got no content it’s going from bad to worse,” lamented a third fan, as another added: “I’m so bored about hearing about the Oscars.”
Another viewer criticised the focus of the segment, saying: “This whole segment has more about Dave and his wife than the Oscars and the showbiz elite.”
Meanwhile, at the Oscars, the low-budget comedy Anora was the big winner, bagging five awards including Best Picture, Best Editing, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Actress for Mikey Madison.
Other films such as Conclave, The Brutalist, Wicked, and Emilia Perez also walked away with accolades.
