Kim Kardashian has hit back at criticism over her daughter North West’s stage debut with the cast of The Lion King.
The 11-year-old appeared alongside the cast for a special rendition of ‘I Just Can’t Wait to be King’ last year and now the scenes have aired on the latest episode of season six of The Kardashians.
Following the performance in 2024, she was met with plenty of online criticism as many argued it was a case of nepotism and somebody more deserving should have been given the opportunity.
As North successfully carried out her debut, her mum Kim, dad Kanye and the rest of the Kardashian clan gathered to cheer her on.
Speaking in her confessional, proud mum Kim gushed: “She’s so proud of herself, she did such a great job.” She also took the opportunity to shut down the haters as she made a cutting Mariah Carey reference.
Kim continued: “Anyone that is hating on a kid is just like, ‘I hate her’, she’s not there to be Mariah Carey.”
With North now carving out a career in the showbiz industry, Kim has now had to take on the ‘Momager’ role, a title she previously gave to her own mum, Kris Jenner.
Kris managed Kim’s career, as well as her other children Kourtney, Khloe, Kendall, Kylie and Rob for a number of years.
Throwing her own two cents in, Kris said to camera: “I think Kim has been the most amazing momager, I think as the kids get older and this continues and evolves, everyone is going to see maybe how much work I put in to these kids in my day, it isn’t as easy as it looks.”
As she managed her children, Kris would pocket herself 10% earnings from all of the children’s various business deals.
Kim previously made a savage remark about her mum’s cut, implying that she should no longer be receiving that. She commented: “It’s just so interesting that she seems so interested in our careers, she’s still getting her 10% cause that’s what they do.
“But she actually shouldn’t, I might think about this. Now that she’s her own star in her own right and she’s focusing on her own career, I don’t really know what she’s managing these days.”
Kris still works with her daughters but has taken a back seat as she prioritises her own career, instead heavily promoting all of her children on social media.
