Daily US Times: Kim Kardashian West, one of the biggest stars in the Kardasian dynasty, has joined the fight against the coronavirus pandemic by launching a range of face masks.
The 39-year-old star’s underwear brand “Skims” has released a line of non-medical face masks designed for all-day wear. The reusable masks are seamless, breathable and stretchy just like the undergarments.
The masks launched Saturday in five earth colors — Onyx, Sienna, Cocoa, Clay and Sand — with prices starting at $8.
The reality TV star took to Twitter just hours after launching the new product to inform fans that the collection had sold out. She told her 64 million followers: “Unfortunately our @skims face masks have sold today but we are working with our local partner in LA to produce more as quickly as possible.”
Meanwhile, the US is facing the worst due to coronavirus, where nearly 1.5 million coronavirus cases have been recorded and the death toll is approaching 90,000, according to Johns Hopkins University data.
Last year, Kim Kardashian founded Skims. Her company is donating 10,000 of the masks to nonprofits Good+ Foundation and LA Food Bank, Baby2Baby and the National Domestic Workers Alliance advocacy group.
Skims said it is also working to support those affected by the Covid-19 disease by providing basic essentials to at-risk families and those in need, with a $1 million donation to be distributed across these charities.
