Mother and her six children died in a house fire in Mississippi

Daily US Times, Mississippi: Mississippi fire officials said, seven members of a Clinton family died in a house fire in early Saturday morning. The deads are a mother and her six children.

Roads, Deputy Fire Chief John Alman said the mother and her six children perished in the blaze that occurred around 12:30 a.m. near the corner of Old Vicksburg and Hobby Farms Roads.

The names of the victims are published by the police. They are Brittney Presley, 33; Landon Brookshire, 15; Lane Presley, 13; Lawson Presley, 12; Grayson Presley, 6; Malcom Presley, 4; and Felicity Presley, 1.

The father refused to leave the scene until he know if his family was deceased. He was later taken to a nearby hospital for treatment for burns, smoke inhalation and cuts.

Firefighters get the fire in control after at least 45 minutes.

State fire department has not determined a preliminary cause of the fire that left the detached home charred.

The city of Clinton said on Facebook “Fire Marshals are conducting an investigation. While we do not know the cause of the fire, we do not suspect any foul play.”
