Nestle chocolate that looks ‘just like’ discontinued fan favourite treat spotted in UK stores

A Nestle chocolate bar that looks “just like” a discontinued product has been spotted on the shelves of budget retailer.

Chocolate fans were left devastated after Nestle announced last year that it was axing its Animal Bar after almost 40 years. But now, shoppers have spotted an imported treat that looks very similar – in Poundland. Jungly Figuritas is a Nestle product from Spain and features milk chocolate wild animals, including lions and crocodiles.

A product description on the Nestle Family Club website reads: “This bag contains figurines in the shape of milk chocolate animals and pieces of JUNGLY biscuits. 100% sustainably grown cocoa selected through Nestlé Cocoa Plan. Rainforest Alliance certified.”

One shopper said: “OMG they remind me of animal bars.” Another added: “Animal bars. OMG I used to love them. Six years ago I would just get a slushy and them when out.” It comes after Nestle sparked uproar by axing its popular Caramac bar last year.

Caramac was a caramel flavoured chocolate. Fans were left gutted by the news, so Nestle brought the iconic bar back last July – but only for a limited time. Lisa Butterworth, chocolate classics brand manager for Nestle UK and Ireland, said: “The calls for the return of Caramac were heard loud and clear, and for this unique bar we wanted to create a special opportunity for fans to enjoy it once more. We hope that this limited release gives people the opportunity to savour and stock up on Caramac as a gesture of our appreciation for the longstanding support of our confectionery fans throughout the years.”

In recent months, Nestle has also announced the discontinuing of childhood classic chocolate bar Breakaway, along with Yorkie Biscuit. Breakaway, which is made up of a crunchy digestive biscuit covered in milk chocolate and was first launched in 1970, and is no longer produced as of March.

Nestle told The Mirror it has has launched a range of new products in recent years, including Neapolitan flavour Aero Melts, Munchies, Cookie Dough and Milkybar Raspberry Ripple pieces, Rowntree’s Randoms Fizzy Cactuz, KitKat Chunky White with Lotus Biscoff and Aero Choco-Hazelnut flavour.
