Daily US Times: The Duke of Cambridge Prince William contracted Covid-19 earlier this year, palace sources have told.
It is believed he tested positive in April at a similar time to the Prince of Wales, his father.
Prince William, second in line to the throne, kept his diagnosis private to avoid alarming the nation, according to the Sun newspaper.
Kensington Palace, the home and office of Prince William, refused to comment officially.
The Sun, who first reported the story, said Prince William did not tell anyone about his positive test result because “there were important things going on and I didn’t want to worry anyone”.
The paper added that he was treated by palace doctors and followed government guidelines by isolating at the family home Anmer Hall, in Norfolk.
The condition of the 38-year-old Prince may not have been revealed publicly at the time as they may have wanted to avoid further alarm, given the national mood, BBC reported.
BBC’s royal correspondent said: “But the palace also tries to preserve some privacy for the Royal Family.”
Prince William reportedly carried out 14 video and telephone call engagements during April.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge earlier in that month video-called the children of key workers at a primary school in Burnley, Lancashire.
In March, Prince Charles contracted coronavirus and spent seven days self-isolating in Scotland after displaying mild symptoms.
The 71-year-old Prince of Wales later said he “got away with it quite lightly”.
In April, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson was admitted to hospital after testing positive for coronavirus.
