Evil killer Urfan Sharif is being protected by a gang in jail after becoming “painfully thin” behind bars, insiders have said.
Sharif is serving a 40-year minimum life sentence for murdering his 10-year-old daughter, Sara Sharif, in August 2023. After killing the schoolgirl at his home in Woking, Surrey, vile Sharif then called police telling them where to find her body as he fled to Pakistan with partner Beinash Batool and Sara’s uncle, Faisal Malik.
The 43-year-old was caged in December as a judge Mr Justice John Cavanagh branded his abuse of little Sara as “almost inconceivable”. But while prison life tends to be unkind to inmates in for abusing children, sources have said Sharif remains protected by a gang who have been shielding him at one of the UK’s highest security prisons.
A tough gang of fellow inmates have reportedly been sheltering the child killer at HMP Frankland in County Durham, The Sun reports. It comes after claims he was left “cowering” in his cell after being sliced in the neck with a tuna can lid at HMP Belmarsh.
A source told the outlet: “Sharif has not been touched at Frankland – and it is largely down to this Muslim gang. They are on the same wing as him and they have put the word around that he is not to be touched.
“They’ve said that anyone who tries anything will have them to deal with.” Guards are said to be paying close attention to Sharif after the attack on New Year’s Day left him with non-life threatening injuries, which the Met Police later confirmed was under investigation.
The inmate has also grown “painfully thin”, insiders have claimed. Frankland is known for housing some of the UK’s most evil and despicable monsters seen in the criminal justice system, including ex-Met officer Wayne Couzens, Soham murderer Ian Huntley and Millie Dowler killer Levi Bellfield. Other previous inmates have included Peter Sutcliffe, who murdered 13 women during his campaign of terror as the Yorkshire Ripper in the late 1970s, before dying while at the prison in 2020.
Sara Sharif faced unthinkable horror at the hands of her father, who a court heard beat her her with a cricket bat and metal pole, as well as burning her with an iron. Coward Sharif then blamed Batool for the youngster’s injuries, but was ultimately found guilty of murder.
Sara’s stepmother Batool, 30, was ordered to serve a minimum of 33 years after also being convicted of murder at the Old Bailey on December 17. Malik, 29, was jailed for 16 years after he was found guilty of causing or allowing her death.
