The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is investigating the suspicious death of a detainee in Montreal’s Rivière-des-Prairies detention centre.

The SQ says officers were called to the detention centre at around 11 a.m. Sunday.

The person was found unconscious in their cell and their death was confirmed on-site, according to Quebec provincial police.
