Teddi Mellencamp’s family share heartbreaking update on ‘horrific’ brain tumour surgery

Teddi Mellencamp‘s family have shared an emotional update after undergoing surgery for a brain tumour.

The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 43, underwent emergency surgery to remove two brain tumours as her sister took to social media to share an emotional update.

Taking to her Instagram stories – Justice shared a black and white photo sitting by Teddi’s bedside after her surgery. In the caption, she penned: “Watching a loved one suffer is horrific,’ she wrote. ‘I’ve tried to get back to everyone who has reached out & I know Teddi will share her journey when she is ready. She is by far the strongest person I know.

“So many emotions as I travel home today but her village is the best one I’ve ever seen and I’m so grateful for them (prayer hands emoji). Your prayers are everything. Thank you.”

It comes after Teddi’s estranged husband Edwin Arroyave shared his own statement on the social media site, thanking fans for their support on behalf of the star. “Our family is thankful to everybody for your continued prayers and well wishes,” he said. “Teddi is beyond grateful for the outpouring of love while she continues to recover.”

Later, he posted a selfie with their two daughters, Isabella and Slate as they prepared to visit their mother in the hospital.

Just last week, Teddi revealed she was undergoing urgent operations after doctor’s found tumours on her brain. Sharing the devastating news on Instagram, the RHOBH star described: “For the last several weeks I’ve been dealing with severe and debilitating headaches. Yesterday the pain was unbearable and required hospitalization.

“After a CT scan and MRI, doctors found multiple tumours on my brain, which they believed have been growing for at least 6 months. Two of the tumours will be surgically removed today – the remaining smaller tumours will be dealt with via radiation at a later date.”

She added: “I am blessed to be surrounded by my children, family, friends, doctors, nurses, and surgeons who are doing everything possible to get me back into better health. Thank you everybody who has reached out, and to everyone who has supported me along this journey,” along with a heart emoji.

After the description on her main grid, Teddi moved over to Instagram stories, the star revealed she was already in the hospital. Sharing a picture from her hospital bed, the star wrote: “Counting down the minutes until my babies get here. “As my dad said this am, god only gives hard stuff to those of us who can handle it. It’s a hard day but I have faith and amazing surgeons and know everything will be ok.”
