Viewers of The Apprentice all have said the same thing about a candidate after they made an “absolute joke” offer in an iconic challenge.
On Thursday night, BBC viewers saw the remaining candidates head to Stratford-upon-Avon for the latest challenge.
Tensions were at an all-time high in the latest episode of The Apprentice as the budding entrepreneurs were set yet another challenge by Lord Alan Sugar. On Thursday’s episode (February 13), the candidates were divided into teams of two as they headed to Stratford-upon-Avon.
With nine hours on the clock, they were tasked with securing nine different items from various places. All they had to do was spend the least amount of money on the correct items to win the task.
However, during the show, it was Nadia’s offer to one buyer which left viewers stunned. One of their items was a fleece, from a sheep which had been sheared that day.
Meeting a man who offered what the team needed, he informed them that he wanted £20 for it. As Nadia offered £1.50 as a counter, it was clear her own team were shocked by the low suggestion.
The man said: “Yeah we couldn’t go that low because it’s just not justifiable, it just doesn’t cover the cost.” As Nadia asked what price he was looking for, he reiterated £20.
With another team member stepping in, asking for £10 instead, the man seemed hesitant. Although when Nadia countered with £12, he accepted
Away from the camera, Liam commented: “I think Nadia went in far too low. I got clear instructions from the project manager, Max, to go in at around 50%. The poor fellow’s got to shear a whole sheep for £1.50? It’s an absolute joke.”
It wasn’t long before viewers watching took to Twitter to comment on Nadia’s £1.50 suggestion, with many speechless. One person said: “Sorry but did she just say £1.50 for a fleece [sic]. In a negotiation.”
Someone else wrote: “£1.50??? YOU CAN’T EVEN GET A BAG OF CRISPS FOR THAT.” Another commented: “Nadia trying to get something from £20 for £1.50 has me crying.”
One person tweeted: “Let me make you an offer my friend how about £1.50” when the man said he’d usually sell at £20 what was nadia thinking.” Another said: “Is Nadia kidding???”
While another reeled: “A fleece is £20… “I’d like to make you an offer my friend …”, “ONE POUND FIFTY” She should be fired just for that. Insulting.”
Someone else tweeted: “How on God’s green earth do you try to negotiate £20 to £1.50 [sic] Nadia is a joke.” With another adding: “£1.50 HAD KILLED ME [sic] her face when she said to it too.”
In the end, it was Carlo who become the latest person to leave the BBC competition. Next week, the teams will have to put their cooking skills to the test as they need to create a dish that pleases the public.
A synopsis reads: “It’s tomatoes versus potatoes as the teams are tasked with turning crops into cash. They have to create a dish for the public, deliver a bespoke corporate order and sell to trade.
“In the kitchen, one side’s over-promising leaves them in a pickle, while on the other, some dicey decisions cause profits to plummet.”
The Apprentice continues Thursdays on BBC One from 9pm.
