The White Lotus star Jason Isaacs remained tight-lipped after he was grilled on series three spoilers. After the success of series one and two, the hit show, set in Hawaii and Sicily respectively, has made a return for a third instalment but this time set in an idyllic resort in Thailand.
Jason, 61, takes on the role as no-nonsense wealthy businessman Timothy, who is holidaying at the resort with his wife Victoria and children Saxon, Piper and Lochlan.
His character Timothy struggles with the Thai resort’s no-phones policy when he starts getting calls from a journalist.
As the show continues to capture the attention of viewers, Jason appeared on The One Show alongside hosts Alex Jones and Roman Kemp and the duo couldn’t help but quiz the actor on what fans can expect from the series.
Alex wasted no time as she started off by saying: “This is very exciting because people loved the first and second series and now the third series is finally here and it has been a bit of a wait for this one.”
She then asked: “What can you tell us about the third series?” to which everyone burst out laughing as Jason: “Absolutely nothing, interview over.”
He continued: “All my friends and family have been asking ‘what happens, just tell me who dies’ and I go ‘alright’ but then they go ‘no don’t tell me.’ So it’s been quite hard to talk about it but it’s better, I think, than the first two series. I can tell you that.”
Giving viewers a small glimpse into what the series is all about, he said: “It’s Mike White, who is a genius storyteller, introducing a bunch of reprobates to one of the world’s most luxurious resorts and because we are all watching it they have a terrible time.”
The star added: “It is set in Thailand this time. He chose that place because people go on the search for spirituality or discovery of the self but through the prism of their rich entitlement and hijinks ensue. Terrible things happen to some people and wonderful things happen for others. There’s flesh, tofu, sex, drugs, rock n roll and meditation.”
The One Show airs weekdays from 7pm on BBC One and iPlayer
