‘Volumising’ new grey brow gel shoppers say makes them look 20 years younger

Following on from the sell-out success of its grey eyebrow pencil (now back in stock, no doubt due to popular demand), make-up and skincare brand Jones Road has now added to its range of highly-rated Brow Gels with the launch a new grey shade that’s perfect for those with blonde, brown or grey hair.

This new shade of Jones Road’s The Brow Gel, priced at £26, is a cool-toned, taupe-y grey-brown formula that’s brushed on using the spoolie brush to fill in, shape and control brow hairs, and lasts all day.

It pairs perfectly with the grey Jones Road The Brow Pencil, £24, a chubby, easy-to-use eyebrow crayon that’s perfect for enhancing and defining your arches. Jones Road advises to ‘use The Brow Pencil first to fill in any sparse areas along the brow. Next, apply The Brow Gel in short upward stroke starting at the inner corner and working your way down the tail.’

Shoppers have been impressed by this brow gel, with the product accumulating over 1,000 reviews on the Jones Road website, with many praising its colours and texture:

“First time ever using a brow gel, it does work wonders. Much easier and better coverage. Prefer this to the conventional pencil type,” one review reads.

“Gives me more volume and covers grey hair well!” another five star review reads, while one person said it had “good coverage for my light sparse brows,” and that they had “ordered the brown pencil to fill in”.

A third person even joked that it made them “look like a teenager”, writing: “Great colour for this for a brunette, love the consistency of the product. Really helps to make my 55 year old’s eyebrows look more like a 30 year old’s.”

The one minor complaint that several customers seem to have is that you get a lot of product on the brush, with one person calling it “a little ‘gunky'”. Having seen and tried The Brow Gel myself, I advise scraping some of the product off and back into the tube before brushing it through your eyebrows, especially when it’s new (this is something I regularly have to do with new mascaras too).

If this new shade is anything like as successful as the grey brow pencil, we imagine it may sell out quickly, so we recommend snapping it up now in case it does!

An alternative option is the Benefit Gimme Brow+ Volumising Eyebrow Gel in the shade grey, priced at £26 for a full-size tube or £14 for a mini one.

And if you prefer a pencil with a fine lead, Glossier’s Boy Brow Arch Pomade Pencil in grey, £24, may fit the bill.
