Daily US Times, Washington: Twitter users are demanding the arrest of Kentucky Republican Rand Paul as #ArrestRandPaul is trending in Twitter after he walked out the Senate amid Trump’s impeachment trial.
Mr. Paul sent an impeachment question to the Chief Justice, but the CJ declined to read his question. The CJ presides the trial in the Senate declared that he is denying to read the question, following this Mr. Paul left the chamber.
Later on Thursday, Paul tweeted saying his question during the impeachment trial proceedings of President Donald Trump had to do with “whether or not individuals who were holdovers from the Obama National Security Council and Democrat partisans conspired with Schiff staffers to plot impeaching the President before there were formal House impeachment proceedings.”
After CJ Roberts blocked his question, Sen. Paul walked out of the Senate and read it aloud to reporters behind a podium before tweeting it out.
The Kentucky Republican has named the alleged whistleblower before and has repeatedly urged that the tipster be outed publicly.
Law protects the whistleblower’s identity not to be revealed, that’s why The Daily US Times is not publishing the person’s alleged name.
After he tweeted the alleged tipster’s name Thursday, the hashtag #ArrestRandPaul started trending in Twitter nationally.
”Anyone revealing the name of the whistleblower is inhumane”, one twitter user wrote.
”You’ve been acting a fool again, Rand. Outing the whistle-blower is both a violation of the Whistle-blower Protection Act and in contempt of the Chief Justice. You just won’t stay in your yard will you?”, said another.
”Rand Paul should be jailed immediately for attempting to out the whistleblower, but then again we’ve been shown that Republicans don’t have to pay for their crimes these days”, tweets a user.
Along with this hashtag, #dershowitzlogicm #wewantwitnessess and #TrumpsDNA were trending nationally.
