The Mirror US reports a plot synopsis from Netflix states: “The limited series stars De Niro as respected former President George Mullen, who, as head of the Zero Day Commission, is charged with finding the perpetrators of a devastating cyberattack that caused chaos and thousands of fatalities across the country.
“Disinformation runs rampant and the personal ambitions of power brokers in technology, Wall Street, and government collide. Mullen’s unwavering search for the truth forces him to confront his own dark secrets while risking all he holds dear.
“Zero Day asks the question on everyone’s mind: How do we find truth in a world in crisis, one seemingly torn apart by forces outside our control? And in an era rife with conspiracy theories and subterfuge, how many of those forces are of our own making — maybe even our own imagining?”

Zero Day is coming to Netflix on Thursday, February 20. The new Netflix series will consist of six episodes.
None other than Hollywood legend Robert De Niro who takes on the role of George Mullen – a beloved yet complex ex-US president called out of retirement to lead the groundbreaking Zero Day Commission to get to the bottom of a catastrophic global cyberattack. De Niro, famed for his iconic performances in The Godfather Part II, Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, and Meet the Fockers, promises to deliver another compelling act.
Also gracing the screen is the magnificent Angela Bassett as Evelyn Mitchell, the incumbent US president who hands Mullen a role unlike any in American history. With her illustrious career spanning blockbusters like Black Panther, Malcolm X, What’s Love Got to Do with It, and Olympus Has Fallen, Bassett’s talent needs no introduction.
Jesse Plemons steps into the shoes of Roger, George Mullen’s ex-aide and go-to fixer– a character viewers will surely connect with. Plemons brings with him a resume packed with memorable roles from Breaking Bad, Fargo, The Power of the Dog, to Game Night, ensuring Roger will be a character to remember.
Lizzy Caplan, known for her role in Fatal Attraction, portrays congressional representative Alexandra Mullen, while White Lotus’s Connie Britton takes on the role of shrewd political operative Valerie Whitesell. Joan Allen, star of Bourne Ultimatum, features as former First Lady Sheila Mullen and Matthew Modine from Stranger Things plays Richard Dreyer.
The ensemble cast also includes Bill Camp as CIA director Jeremy Lasch, Dan Stevens from Gaslit as Evan Green, McKinley Belcher III as Carl Otieno, Gaby Hoffmann as Monica Kidder, Clark Gregg as Robert Lyndon and Mark Ivanir as Natan.
