Daily US Times, London: The Queen has summoned senior royals to an emergency summit at her Sandringham estate in Norfolk, where she is expected to meet Prince Harry.
The future roles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex Prine Harry and Megan Markle will be discussed in the meeting.
Megan is now in Canada, but a source indicates to the Guardian she could attend the meeting via conference call if she is able to given there is a considerable time difference.
The Queen, Prince of Wales, Duke of Cambridge and Duke of Sussex will be in the meeting. This would the first time the four have met since the Sussex crisis exploded on Wednesday.
The meeting call created lots of speculations, but there is no suggestion that a conclusion will be reached.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made an astonishing announcement earlier this week that they are stepping back as senior members of the Royal Family. Both also said they would manage to live both in the UK and North America.
BBC reported that the meeting would produce a “next step” on the way to defining the couple’s new relationship with the Royal Family – in line with the Queen’s wish to find a solution within days.
Harry and Markle made the announcement on their Instagram page, citing ”work to become financially independent.”
The Queen, Prince Charles, William, and Harry would review a range of possibilities for the Sussexes. They will take into account the plans outlined by Prince Harry and Meghan.
The general understanding is if a deal is agreed, it will take some time to implement.
BBC analyst Jonny Dymond indicates that this may not be the last such gathering needed to sort things out. Palace staff and civil servants for the most senior members of the family to meet to discuss some pretty concrete proposals on the way ahead for Prince Harry and Meghan, he wrote.
