Daily US Times: Spanish tennis superstar Rafael Nadal’s kiss to a ball girl wins the hearts of the internet. He kissed her in the court after hitting the ball straight to her head.
Nadal was acting a return on serve against Argentina’s Federico Delbonis, leading 4-1 in the third set of their second-round match Thursday.
When Federico served to Nadal, a scorching forehand return from him hit the girl’s head directly.
Nadal grimaced as well as an audible gasp from the crowd. Nadal rushed to the girl, asked her about the hit she just got and lastly kiss her cheek and patted her on the head.
“For her, probably it was not a good moment,” the Spaniard said and acknowledged that he was scared for her.
The audience cheers to Rafael Nadal’s kiss. He won the match 6-3 7-6 (4) 6-1.
The world no.1 will face fellow Spaniard and No. 27 seed Pablo Carreno Busta.
During an interview after the match, Nadal branded the girl as ‘super brave girl’. He said it was one of the most scary moments of his life in the tennis court.
Nadal won the Australian Open just once in 2009. This is the only trophy he won just for once.
